Jingle Bell Jog 2009

*I-95 to I-595.  West on I 595 to SW 136th Ave and north to Sawgrass Technology Park. 

* Sawgrass Expressway south or I-75 north to Sunrise Blvd, then east 1/2 mile to NW 136th Ave. 


Parking available at entrance on NW 136th Ave. (south of Sunrise).



7:30 am 5K Run (USATF certified course)
8:15 am Elf Romp (Kids 11 and under)
Elf Romp:  Kids 11 and under are invited to participate in this FREE fun run where everyone's a winner.  Children will receive bells, race number, and candy cane (T-shirt not included).  Elf Romp starts at 8:15am.  Following the Elf Romp, children can visit the Elf Workshop that will consist of several stations where they can learn about many safety issues (skateboarding, swimming, bike riding, etc.).  In addition, there will be an arts and crafts table and a special visit from Santa Claus.

New Scoring System:

This event will be using the New Chrono Track Tag scoring system.  Please keep the electronic tag on your race number until race morning.  At the race site please follow the directions that are on the Bib as to how to place this tag on your running shoe.  The tag can be thrown out after the race.

Participants who register online or by mail can ONLY pick up their t-shirt & race number on race day, Dec. 5th.

Registration on Race Day

Registration and packet pickup opens at 6:15 am and closes at 7:15 am.


Awards are presented to the the overall male & female in the following categories:

  • Overall Finisher
  • Masters (40 & over)
  • Grand Master (50 & over)
  • Senior Grand Master (60 & over)
  • Golden Grand Master (70 & up)

Overall male and female winners in each event will be excluded from their age group awards.

Awards are also presented to the top three finishers in each age group:

  • Age Groups:  10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-19, five-year age groups from 20 to 80 and over.

Costume Division

All entrants are invited to dress in a holiday costume.  Five people will be selected as winners and will receive gift certificates.


Massage therapists from the American Institute School of Wellness and Beauty will provide complimentary chair massages.


Each entrant receives a commemorative t-shirt.  Late entrants may not receive a t-shirt on race day.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of both men and women.  Everyone has been touched by heart disease in some way,  either personally or through their family and friends.

Broward General Medical Center has the longest standing Cardiac Rehabilitation program in Broward County.  Our program offers a continuum of care for the prevention and treatment of heart disease, including psychological counseling, EKG telemetry monitoring, stress management, nutritional counseling, and educational lectures.

Your donations will allow us to upgrade the technology in our Cardiac Rehabilitation program and meet the growing needs of our patients in the community.

The Broward Health Foundation is the fundraising arm of Broward Health, one of the ten largest public healthcare systems in the nation.  The mission of the Broward Health Foundation is to improve the health of the community by providing resources to promote, support and enhance the programs and initiatives of Broward Health.  The Foundation is pleased to partner with the Wellness Center on the 25th Anniversary Jingle Bell Jog.  All funds raised from this event will be used to purchase a Telemetry System to monitor rehabilitating cardiac patients at the Wellness Center.  This vital equipment is needed to help us to continue providing the best cardiac care to our community.  We thank you for your participation in this fun event and look forward to your participation again next year.
